Why I would love to go on Another Holiday this year
I find the best and cheapest holidays can be had by visiting your favourite spots during off season. Take the beach for example. Those rolling waves and sandy shores exist year-round. Sure, temperatures in the spring may punish any bikini-exposed flesh, but take the opportunity to cast off the pressure of fitting into last year’s suit, and arrive fully dressed for a change, convince yourself you would love another holiday right?.

Don’t try to cut costs on the sunscreen though, and remember to protect exposed skin even if it doesn’t feel hot out. Enjoy the coastline in an ocean-front suite for a fraction of what it would cost during the summer. Watch the sun rise or set over the water from the comfort of your room. Visiting off season has the amazing quality of transforming a familiar vacation spot too. Instead of crowds, lines, and traffic, you get the experience the locals usually keep all for themselves. Slow down and explore shelling in the mornings, and seek out museums and locations you just didn’t have time for when rushing around to all the must-see attractions.
It can be a bit windy on the beach, so why not take a kite along? If the kids insist on swimming, find a hotel with an in-door pool and you’ll never get a complaint from them. Coastlines offer a unique set of birds, plants, and marine life, so bring along a pair of binoculars and a handy nature guide for some inexpensive nature exploration. Take a boat out for some fishing or rent a sea kayak for great low off-season prices too. When it comes to meals, you can find great savings by looking for specials and price drops during the off-season. Many restaurants and popular tourist spots may be closed, so look for what remains open. Often those places are local favourites and hidden gems.
